Westminster City Council invests in over 200 mobile CCTV cameras from Revader Security

Revader Security has supplied over 200 redeployable cameras for use by Westminster City Council as part of its public space CCTV network.

Selected by safety and security specialists North, the incumbent service provider, Revader manufactured and supplied the cameras over an 18-month period to enhance public safety across one of London’s most high-profile and densely populated areas.

The council required a flexible, secure and fully integrated surveillance solution capable of responding quickly to changing operational demands and emerging incidents. Each camera interfaces directly with Genetec video management software (VMS), enabling live monitoring and recording from a central control room while maintaining seamless integration with existing infrastructure.

Revader collaborated with North to purpose-build the units to meet Westminster’s operational and security requirements. The redeployable units are equipped with high-performance PTZ cameras from Hanwha, delivering exceptional image clarity and full remote-control functionality with 4G and Wi-Fi connectivity providing reliable communications options. An external SIM card repository offers additional flexibility and simplifies network management.

Designed with cybersecurity at the forefront, the system incorporates heavy encryption and password protection to safeguard data integrity. The surveillance hardware is also NDAA compliant, meeting supply chain security requirements. Powered primarily via mains connections from existing lamppost infrastructure, the cameras can be installed efficiently with minimal disruption.

Stuart Caldecourt, Managing Director at Revader Security, said:

“This project demonstrates the scalability of the platform and its ability to suppocontact our teamrt large metropolitan authorities with complex security requirements. Its redeployable design ensures long-term operational flexibility while maximising return on investment.”

This deployment significantly strengthens Westminster’s ability to monitor high-footfall and high-risk areas, respond dynamically to public safety concerns and support enforcement teams with high-quality evidential footage.
